FABULOUS FELTING with The Wizard of Felt, June Cable
Tuesdays, October 20th – December 15th (9 weeks)
Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Course Fee: $115.00 members/$135.00 non-members (+HST)
Material kits will be available for purchase from the instructor at a cost of $10.00. Explore all facets of the art of felting from needle felting basics to creating a needle-felted angel from raw wool, or a Christmas stocking from a recycled wool sweater. Max 8 students

POTTER’S WEEKENDS with Leo Despres

During this three-weekend course, students will have the opportunity to explore different pottery and glazing techniques. Participants will be encouraged to combine various methods of construction, like coil, slab, pinch, and of course, the wheel. Max 8 students.

CELESTIAL NAVIGATION with Robert Van de Peer

Celestial navigation is the process whereby angles between objects in the sky and the horizon are used to locate one's position on the globe. Learn this ancient navigational method with a seasoned sailing master. Max 8 students

Tuesdays, October 27th – December 1st (6 weeks)

This fun and relaxing course is an introduction to hand building and glazing techniques. Participants will learn basic clay construction methods including coil, slab, pinch and a combination of techniques. You will also have a chance to try your hand at the potter’s wheel as you create fun and functional pieces. Max 8 students.

LIFE DRAWING & PAINTING with Patrick Cordier
Tuesdays October 27th – December 1st
Thursdays October 29th – December 3rd
Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm (6 weeks, 2 days per week)

Material Kit: $40.00 (+HST)
Join local artist Patrick Cordier for an introduction to the Old Masters classic oil painting technique and the depth of light that can be achieved through it. On Tuesdays students begin with life drawing /gesture drawing exercises to develop a sense of movement and form, and expand their own style. On Thursdays apply the methods of the Old Masters with the skills developed on Tuesday to your own Masterpiece. Max 8 students

Courses for Children
DANCE, DOODLE AND DRAW with Sheryl Crighton
Wednesdays, October 14th – December 16th (10 weeks)
Ages 9-13: 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Course Fee: $130.00 members/$150.00 non-members
“Dance” and “Doodle” make up the 25 minute gesture drawing exercise segment of the class - one student strikes a ‘dance’ pose; while, the rest of the class does a quick sketch of that student. “Draw”, the second segment of the class will focus on applying the exercises to drawings / paintings using a range of media. Max 8 students.

Explore the connections between art, nature and science. Make watercolours from plants that grown in your back yard! See how the pattern of a spider’s web and the centre of a daisy is basically the same! Discover the amazing shapes and colours found in nature and how to use them to make some awesome art. PARENTS AND TOTS with Chantal Vincent

Ages: 2-4 (with an adult caregiver): 10:00am – 11:00am

A variety of traditional art media will be explored in an open-ended, expressive environment. This is a terrific bonding experience allowing moms (or dads) & little ones to share some really fun, creative time together. Max 8 parent/tot pairs.

HOLIDAY KIDS!

Workshop Fee: $15 per child (no member discount)
Ages: All ages (5 or younger, must be with an adult caregiver)
This workshop will provide an opportunity for students to create their very own Christmas decorations for the house and tree. Max 15 students.
