THANK YOU everyone for making our second Guess Who event such an enormous success!
More than $14,000 was raised!
On Saturday October 1, 2011, more than 200 people came out to support Sunbury Shores at the Second Guess Who? Art Event.
Local and national artists, craftspeople, writers, musicians, actors, radio / television personalities, politicians created and donated 6" x 8" works of art to Sunbury Shores to be sold during a huge one day sale. All the work was the same price. However... all the pieces were signed on the back. So, no one knew who they bought, until the end of the evening. For those who are wondering... here are photos of the event and of who did what:

[M.A. (Marie) Alchorn is a Saint John area resident under the tutelage of Alma Campbell of the Fundy Gallery of Art. She delights in painting and the myriad of feelings it has awakened in her. With time, she hopes to be able to express and share these feelings with others through the medium of paint on canvas.]
- Brian Allen Adams, Artist
[Brian Allen Adams is an award winning artist (first visual artist to win best
product in over 30 years at ACTS), who has exhibited in galleries and museums. He is a past
president of NBCC (New Brunswick Crafts Council) and his work is in the collection of the K.C Irving Museum. Brian is also a Juried Carver
who has owned and operated an art gallery for over 20 years.]

[Jerome Andrews is a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. He specializes in landscapes, seascapes and surrealistic images.]
- Dave Barry, Pulitzer Prize Winning Author and Columnist
[Dave Barry is a humor columnist. For 25 years he was a syndicated columnist whose work appeared in more than 500 newspapers in the United States and abroad. In 1988 he won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. Dave has also written a total of 30 books. Two of his books were used as the basis for the CBS TV sitcom "Dave's World". Dave plays lead guitar in a literary rock band called the Rock Bottom Remainders, whose other members include Stephen King, Amy Tan, Ridley Pearson and Mitch Albom.]
- Robert Bartlett, Doctor
[Robert Bartlett was born and raised in Charlotte county, left for 35 years but returned, self taught artist in oils and acrylics, occasional stone sculptor, physician, developer, failed retiree, Kubota owner, and general bon vivant - and President of Sunbury Shores.]
- Robert Bateman, Wildlife Artist
[Although famous for his wildlife paintings, Robert Bateman is also a lecturer and author on art, nature, conservation and the environment.]
- Jared Betts, Artist
[Jared Bett's paintings hover between abstraction and representation. Somewhere between
fiction and reality, his dreams and thoughts are brought to life as he creates surreal
worlds that defy law and reason.]
- Jantje Blokhuis-Mulder, Artist

[A former sections editor at the Oakville Beaver newspaper, freelance writer Wilma Blokhuis also dabbles in stained glass.]

[David Bizzo has studied art at schools in both Canada and England. Born in Saint John, NB, he has been painting for 30 years and his abstract and figurative works have been exhibited around the world including at the NB Museum and The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London.]

- Josten Burhoe, Emerging Artist
[Emerging artist Josten Burhoe was born in Saint John, NB in 1992. Brought up around artwork, Josten has no formal training and is self taught. He creates using mostly pen and ink on paper, acrylic and digital imaging.]
- Brent Butt, Comedian, Actor and Writer
[Born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Brent Butt discovered early that being funny was a good way to get attention. Brent honed his comedy in school and at the age of 20 moved to the city to pursue a career in stand-up. Within months he was headlining top clubs in Toronto, and within a couple years he was touring internationally and appearing at major festivals. His television specials quickly secured his reputation as one of the funniest people in the country, but he was also busy creating his own TV series – a sitcom called Corner Gas. It became an instant hit with unprecedented ratings and numerous accolades including an International Emmy Award nomination, and was named “Funniest Show on TV” by TV Guide readers. Corner Gas went on to become Canada’s #1 comedy, broadcast in over 26 countries including the US and airing for six seasons.]
- June Cable, Textile Artist
[June Cable is a fibre artist and instructor with a passion for felt and recycling. June felts with raw materials, commercial materials and recycled materials and her exuberance and magnetic personality is inspiring.]
- Alma Campbell, Artist
[Self taught artist, Alma Campbell's paintings showcase the beauty of her New Brunswick surroundings with an emphasis on the Fundy coast.

- Tammy Cassidy, Artist
[Tammy Cassidy is a Rothesay area artist who creates abstract works in acrylic mixed media. She is drawn to organic shapes, textures and transparent layers. She sees each painting as an opportunity to explore this wonderful versatile medium. Tammy has studied under various local artists and this summer completed a week long abstract painting course at New Brunswick College of Craft and Design with Deanna Musgrave.]

[Pamela creates organic abstract art, fine fiber art and female forms which are inspired by natural beauty.]
- Michael Chesley Johnson, Artist
[Michael Chesley Johnson is an oil and pastel painter working in the American Southwest, coastal Maine and the Canadian Maritimes. ]
- Claire Chevarie, Artist
[Claire Chevarie had her first solo show in 1972 at the Galerie d'art de l'Université de Moncton. She is a member of Pastel Artists Canada as well as a member of the Canadian Artists Representation. Her talent is in creating paintings that are full of fantasy and rhythm.]
- Herménégilde Chiasson, Artist, Poet and Playwright
[Herménégilde Chiasson is a noted Acadian poet, artist and playwright born in St-Simon, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the 29th Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick between 2003 and 2009. He is also currently a professor at Université de Moncton. Chiasson's artistic production is immense. He has participated in more than 100 exhibitions, including 18 solo exhibitions.]
- Stan Choptiany, Town Councilor
[Stan Choptiany is one of St. Andrews' Town Councilors. He is also an artist.]
- Mary Colburn-Green, Artist
[Mary Colburn-Green is a mostly self taught artist who has profited greatly from Sunbury Shores classes and mentoring by local artists. Mary works in oil, pastels and watercolor. She paints what captures her imagination, usually garden subjects, vineyard vistas, portraits of loved ones, and whimsy - from lobsters and dogs to chickens and snails.
- Jean-Frances Cousens, Artist
[Jean-Frances paints on site with acrylic on canvas but more recently has experimented with working from photographs. Her work has been acknowledged in the Telegraph Journal and Bread 'n Molasses]
- Rosanne Craig-Best, Artist
[Rosanne Craig-Best paints landscapes using acrylic and oil.]
- Sheryl Crighton, Artist
[After beginning her formal education in art in Saskatchewan, Sheryl Crighton completed one year of portraiture at the Ottawa School of Art and then received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Ottawa. Sheryl is one of the Sunbury Shores CLASS Program instructors.]
- Bertha Day, Artist
[Bertha Day is a mixed media artist who works with fabric, paper, paint and thread. She is recognized for her distinctive textile designs. This work, sometimes combining painting and embroidery, ranges from wearable art to wallhangings and cushions.]
- Cindy Day, Meteorologist

[Meteorologist Cindy Day is one of CTV’s newest and brightest on-air personalities. Originally from Bainsville, Ontario, Cindy has been a Maritimer for 12 years. Armed with a degree in meteorology from McGill University, Cindy has been involved in meteorology in some form for more than 25 years. She started her career with Environment Canada briefing pilots at the MacDonald Cartier Airport in Ottawa. She then began her media career with CFRA radio in Ottawa hosting a program called Ottawa AM. Changing tracks, she went on to create her own business - “Weather by Day” a weather-based consulting service that provided seasonal forecasts, climate data and radio reports for Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
In 1998 Cindy moved to Nova Scotia to start her Maritime media career. Cindy has been with CTV since September 2007 and has quickly become an indispensable member of the CTV News team.
Cindy is an admitted chocoholic and is, without question, the Montreal Canadiens’ biggest fan. Cindy lives in Dartmouth with her Beagle “Bix”. In addition to skiing and cooking in the winter and golfing and gardening in the summer, Cindy loves to collect umbrellas for those rainy Maritime days.]
- Betty Drummie, Artist
[Betty Drummie is a St. Andrews artist. Her paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylic, range from landscapes, seascapes and animals.]
- Ruth Dunfield, Musician and Stained Glass Artist
[Singer/songwriter Ruth Dunfield is an accomplished musician, performing and writing music for most of her life, acquiring a loyal cult following who appreciates her authentic artistic voice.]
- Lorne Elliott, Comedian, Musician and Playwright
[Lorne Elliot has performed from Newfoundland to New York City, from Los Angeles to Australia and points in between. Lorne started performing in 1974 as a folk musician in East Coast Canada. At the same time he kept writing fiction as well as songs, monologues and one-liners. The outcome of such a training is a very special show of comedy and music, totally original, entertaining, up-lifting and foolish enough to make everybody laugh. Along with his unique and wacky performance style, it is the timelessness of his material, joined with keen observations of today's trends that make Lorne Elliot's work so special.]

[Debb Ferris Bates was born in Sussex, N.B and now lives in Fredericton, N.B. After school, she decided to apply for a job at a sign shop where she learned the "old school" ways of handlettering and pinstripingShe now runs her own business, "Feminine Touch Signs" and her pinstriping work has since gone to different amusement parks all over the world. Since then Debb has realized that her love of painting and creating could not be held back any longer and decided in 1998 to pursue her love of art, in painting pet portraits and anything she sees beauty in. "Even the rust on an old forgotten car has beauty" she says with excitement. "If I could not paint...I could not breathe."]

[C.B. Forrest is a Canadian mystery writer, general fiction writer and poet. The first novel in his mystery series featuring detective Charlie McKelvey was the critically-acclaimed The Weight of Stones, shortlisted for the Arthur Ellis Award for best first novel. [Christina Ann Greenlaw is a St. Andrews artist who creates with watercolour, acrylic and pastels. She has grown up St. Andrews and paints everything from landscapes and abstracts to fruit, flowers and animals.
She is also one of the founders of the St. Andrews Kite Festival - a creative, all-ages event which raises funds for various non-profits in Charlotte County.]

[Sharon Grozik was born and grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, where she still resides.
Her interest in painting began when she visited the newly opened
Fundy Gallery of Art at Loch Lomond Mall, in Saint John, New Brunswick.
She was so intrigued with the art work that when given
the opportunity, in the summer of 2006,
she began painting under the direction of Alma Campbell.
She enjoys painting landscapes, peaceful waters, and long forgotten old buildings
(such as old barns, covered bridges, and small country homes).]

- Etta Jones, Artist
[Etta Jones resides in Otter Lake just outside Saint John, New Brunswick. It wasn't until later in life, after staying home to raise her family, that she found her calling. She began dabbling in water colors and painting lanscapes at the age of 65. By the age of 73 she was experimenting with acrylics and found that was her medium of choice. Etta is now a member of The Fundy Gallery of Art in Saint John, NB, where she enjoys sharing her work with other artists and the many people she meets through the gallery.]

- Annapurna Moffatt, Photographer
[Annapurna Moffatt is a photographer living on St. David Ridge, New Brunswick. She is currently majoring in photography at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in Fredericton, where she has been exploring and experimenting with urban photography. Growing up, she took courses in many different media. Most of those courses took place at Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre, to the point where the Centre was like a second home for Annapurna. In 2003, when she received her first digital camera, she began photographing seriously. In 2008 she took part in a Freeman Patterson/André Gallant workshop. It was at that time that she began to see the creative possibilities in photography, and began to look beyond the "straight-out-of-camera" style.]

at 5. In February 2006, Liz became the host and producer of Take Five - a
lifestyle and entertainment segment on Live at 5. Liz recently took on new role
behind the scenes, working in community relations and promotions.]

[Cedar Sky is a St. Andrews based artist who runs Earthforge Designs, a jewellery business with clients from around the world. He holds a Fine Arts Degree from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) and a Diploma of Fine Craft in Jewellery and Metalsmithing from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD). ]

- Barbara Stewart, Artist
[B.M. (Barbara) Stewart, resides in Saint John, New Brunswick. Following participation in a workshop "Releasing your Creativity" conducted by New Brunswick artist, Ed Coleman, Barbara eagerly joined a group of artists who meet weekly at the Fundy Gallery of Art under the direction of New Brunswick artist, Alma Campbell. Barbara considers herself to be a budding artist whose talent is still evolving.]

[Self taught watercolor artist, Roy Tibbits is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Roy is also an associate member of Canadian Painter’s in watercolor and since 2000 Roy has been frequently selected as a finalist in the Art of Automobile competition sponsored by The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, with his works of art traveling to various cities. He lives in Stickney, New Brunswick.]

[Robert Van de Peer, a Master Printmaker trained in England, has over thirty years experience in printmaking.]

[Chantal Vincent apprenticed at Centre de Ceramique Bonsecours in Montreal. Her personal work is created from original molds that she designs and fabricates. Chantal is one of the Sunbury Shores CLASS Program instructors.]

[Whether it is poppies, lilies, or sunflowers, Francine Voisine brings them to life on canvas. She wants the viewer to appreciate the beautiful colours that surround us.]
