Summer 2010
FIRE AND METAL

July 26-30, 2010
Colleen Lynch
Experience five days in a professional metalsmithing studio, focusing on all the wonderful things that happen when non-ferrous metals meet fire! Studio layout and safe practices will be stressed. Time will be spent developing appropriate designs and absorbing the essential steps required to prepare metal for soldering. Then you will solder, clean and polish to your heart’s delight. We’ll also explore the decorative possibilities of heat and direct flame on metal surfaces. If time allows, we’ll even execute a few moldless castings -- a great way to recycle scraps from other projects. This course takes place in the artist’s home studio, just outside St. Andrews, NB. Maximum 4 students.
Course Only: $335.00 +HST;
Course & 5 Nights Accommodations: $530.00 +HST
