Summer 2010
RAKU POTTERY
July 26 – August 1, 2010 (7 days)
Peter Thomas

This is an exceptional opportunity to explore the ancient, yet contemporary, art form of Raku pottery and pit firing in a beautiful seaside setting. Through an intense workshop of making, glazing, and firing your work in this unique process, you will gain enough experience to do your own Raku. Under the guidance of internationally renowned potter Peter Thomas, you will become familiar with the technical process and develop your own creative style. Construction methods include slab, coil, extruded and (provided there is some prior experience), wheel work. Plan for seven days of intensity and fun by the sea!
