STAINED GLASS

Thursdays, March 18th April 15th (5 weeks)

Learn the basic techniques of this intriguing art form, or continue with what you have learned in previous courses. You will have the opportunity to make one or more stained glass pieces to display in your window (or give as gifts!) Patterns will be provided or bring your own design ideas with you. No previous stained glass experience is required.
Maximum 8 students.
Ruth is an accomplished artisan and musician with many years of experience in the world of stained glass. Her warmth and calm approach to teaching will inspire you.

Join the Wizard of Felt for a series of four exciting felting workshops involving wet, recycled and needle felting. Max 8 students.
June Cable is a fibre artist and instructor with a passion for felt and recycling. June felts with raw materials, commercial materials and recycled materials and her exuberance and magnetic personality will inspire and delight you.

This fun and relaxing course is an introduction to hand building and glazing techniques. Participants will learn basic clay construction methods including coil, slab, pinch and a combination of techniques. You will also have a chance to try your hand at the potters wheel as you create fun and functional pieces. Max 8 students.
Leo has been working with clay for many years and is an enthusiastic coach. Join him for fun in the pottery studio!

LIFE DRAWING with Patrick Cordier

Take gesture drawing to the final dimension. By the end of this session, students will be able to produce quick and accurate figure drawings using charcoal and oil paint washes. Students will work from a clothed model. Max 8 students

Experience this unique method of printmaking, by painting a
watercolour images onto a plexiglass plate to create one of a kind prints.

Mabel Ketcham is a St. Andrews artist specializing in watercolour and monotype printing. She is also the education coordinator at Sunbury Shores.

During this two weekend workshop, accomplished potter and artist Helen Stanley will help students create whimsical birdfeeders, bird houses, bird baths and other avian paraphernalia using clay. What a hoot! Max 8 students.
Helen Stanley is an accomplished artist and potter. She has always enjoyed handbuilding as well as throwing functional pots. Recently though, she has returned to her first love and created some garden sculptures which have become a very vital part of what she does.

INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING with Anne Johnston

Students will spend one day of this two-day workshop in the studio setting up and drawing a still life. Weather permitting, one of the two days will spent in the field learning about landscape drawing. Max 8 students.
Anne Johnston has been painting the southwestern New Brunswick and northern Maine landscapes in watercolours for more than 20 years. She learned the basics of painting at the School of Art and Design in Montreal and at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Family Beach Walk
EXPLORING THE SEA FLOOR with Mabel Ketcham

Put on your mucking-about boots, bring a bag for treasures, and join Mabel at Indian Point for a walk of discovery on the floor of the Passamaquoddy Bay. What lives under those big rocks, in amongst the rockweed, and in the tidal pools? Youd be surprised what you can find great fun for kids of all ages. Max 15 people.

FAMILY ECSTATIC DANCE

Share the joy of dance! This dance class is for little ones from age 0 to 6 and their families. Anyone who loves to dance and play will love listening and moving to the kid-friendly adult music from around the world. You are invited to sign up for this blissful opportunity to explore creative movement in a safe, judgment free environment. We will start with a fun *shaking* warm-up and then you are free to JUST BE YOU! Some suggestions are provided initially and then you may dance alone or with others.
The irresistible music will take your child on a rich journey to encourage them to freestyle dance and experience ecstatic free-form movement that allows the body and mind to let go and create! This is a free-spirited activity with the only guideline being to respect each other's space. Max 10 families

Work creatively one-on-one with your child while manipulating art materials. A variety of traditional art media will be explored in an open-ended, expressive environment. This is a terrific bonding experience allowing moms & little ones to share some really fun, creative time together. All materials are provided. Please bring a smock for your little ones.
