Looking for a beautiful, oceanfront setting in Canada’s Maritimes to connect with nature and inspire your creativity? You will find all this and more at Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre, located in the resort town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick.
St. Andrews is a seaside haven renowned for its natural beauty, historic past, distinctive architecture and vibrant visual and performing arts community.
Our centre overlooks St. Andrews Harbour and features drawing and painting studios, a printshop, pottery studio, exhibition gallery, nature room and a library. Our instructors - professionals in their fields - are ready to take you on a wonderful journey, so please, join us this summer and escape to create!
MEMBERSHIP: As a not-for-profit organization, we rely on membership fees and donations to carry out quality art and nature programs. Memberships for students and seniors are $15; individuals $ 25; families/dual $40. Members receive tax receipts, discounts at participating merchants and attractions, invitations to special events and voting privileges at our Annual General Meeting. Members also receive a $20.00 per course discount.
COURSE INFORMATION: Course fees are listed in Canadian funds. Most courses are 5 days in length and run from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Atlantic Time, with a one hour lunch break unless otherwise noted. Times may vary slightly from course to course.
REGISTRATION: Book early, as courses are popular and enrollment is limited. You can register online (www.sunburyshores.org/register.shtml) or by telephone (506-529-3386), email (info@sunburyshores.org), mail, or in person. We require a 50% deposit at the time of registration. The balance is due 4 weeks before the course start date.
ART SUPPLIES: Materials are not included in the course fee, unless otherwise stated. Ask for a supply list when you register.
SCHOLARSHIPS: We offer a number of art scholarships to New Brunswick students ages 14-18. Contact us for an application form or download one from our website.

ACCOMMODATIONS: For those who wish to have accommodations included with their courses, we have partnered with Huntsman Oceansciences to offer comfortable, basic dormitory-style rooms with shared bath. These rooms (located 2km from Sunbury Shores) come with high speed Internet, but do not have television. Unless otherwise stated, five nights are included (Sunday night through Thursday night) in the accommodation packages. Meals are not included however; a breakfast plan is available directly from Huntsman Oceansciences. Accommodation rates listed in this brochure refer to Huntsman accommodations only. If you wish to book your own accommodations, the Picket Fence Motel (www.picketfencenb.com) offers a special rate for Sunbury Shores students. Call 506-529-8985 or 506-467-6967 for details. A CENTRE FOR ALL SEASONS: Sunbury Shores operates year round, with courses offered and exhibitions displayed during the spring, summer, fall and winter months. In addition, since 2005, the centre has provided local schoolchildren with free art instruction during the school year through the CLASS (Children Learning At Sunbury Shores) program.
PARTNERS IN THE ARTS: The St. Andrews Arts Council is an international non-profit institution dedicated to providing educational and performance opportunities for students of all ages through the St. Andrews Summer School for the Performing Arts and the St. Andrews Arts Council International Global Studies Program. The Summer School, established in 1986 in partnership with the New Brunswick Community College, offers credit and non-credit courses, master classes, workshops and instruction in the performing arts. The International Global Studies Program offers college-credit immersion courses in Liberal Arts and Education through Millikin University (Decatur IL) and other participating colleges and universities.
