Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre, in St Andrews, NB is calling for exhibition proposals by contemporary artists from New Brunswick and other parts of Canada for exhibition at Sunbury Shores in 2026/27. A collaboration between the arts and the environment has informed the vision for Sunbury Shores since it was founded 60 years ago, an anniversary that was celebrated in 2024. The centre strives to present artwork that reflects and promotes a diversity of disciplines and media in all the arts – from emerging to professional artists.
Exhibition proposals should be well researched and outline a clear concept; they will be reviewed for artistic quality and creativity. Artwork should be original, and either ready for display or have a clear timeline for completion.
Exhibitions are displayed for approximately 8 weeks (large solo or group exhibitions), four weeks (small solo or group exhibitions), or pop-up shows for shorter periods as available. Artist fees, based on national CARFAC rates, are paid as far as possible to Canadian artists. Artwork may be available for sale or not. A jury of professional artists, arts administrators, and board members review proposals.
Submission requirements are (1) a digital portfolio of 8 – 15 quality images, with corresponding image list; (2) a brief artist statement or exhibition proposal, max 500 words; (3) the artist’s CV or resume (max 500 words); and (4) contact information (must include email, telephone and mailing address).
The deadline for submissions is August 30, 2025. Please Note: Incomplete submissions will NOT be reviewed.
