*All studio users must be Members of SSANC and all first-time participants are required to take an orientation session at the cost of $20. As a registered charity, we do not charge HST.

Daily Rental

Rent access to a studio for a day during the centre’s open hours (Tues – Sat, 10 am – 4 pm). Gain access to one of the studio spaces and equipment.

Weekly Membership

Buy a one-week membership during the centre’s open hours (Tues – Sat, 10 am – 4 pm). Gain access to one of the studio spaces and equipment.

Monthly Membership

Multi-day Pass

$20/day

Buy up to a ten-day pass which can be used at any time within a year the pass was purchased. Gain access to one of the studio spaces and equipment during the centre’s open hours (Tues – Sat, 10 am – 4 pm).

Group Mentor Sessions

$20/person

Core Studio Member

$450/year

For a refundable deposit of $40, the member receives a key that allows 24/7 access to one of the studios. A Core Studio Member must be willing to take on a role as a volunteer to maintain the studio, offer tours and activities at special events, act as host to visiting artists in residence, contribute to the ongoing development of studio policy.

Ceramics

Located on the basement level, the pottery studio is a welcoming space for emerging and experienced potters to create work, instruct, experiment and connect.

The studio is equipped with:

  • 4 pottery wheels
  • 2 electric kilns
  • Raku kiln c/o volunteer potter off site
  • Build courses for kids to seniors
  • Studio rental for trained potters
  • Limited materials storage
  • Glaze inventory and glaze reference library
  • Wide range of chemicals and compounds

Metalsmith

Our newly established metal studio is located on the basement level, adjacent to the pottery studio. It provides an assortment of tools and space with workbench space for up to eight people. The studio features small windows overlooking the lovely Zen Garden and the St. Andrews Harbour.

Printmaking

Our printshop is a bright, newly renovated facility on the second floor overlooking the St. Andrews Harbour. Sunbury Shores boasts the only environmentally-friendly, non-toxic printmaking studio in eastern Canada. Not only is this good for the environment, but it makes printmaking safe for kids, teens and adults! We also work with one of the only Master Printmakers east of Toronto, Robert Van de Peer.

The studio is equipped with:

  • Lithograph Press with lithographic stones
  • Two Intaglio Presses
  • Lino, Copper Plate, Acetate, Collograph, Mezzotint, & Aquatint Press capability
  • Non-toxic print chemicals and materials
  • Dedicated, internationally recognized chop for all prints printed in the Sunbury printmaking studio
  • Range of inks, rollers, papers and non-toxic etching solvents

Multi-Purpose

The multi-purpose studio is a large, brightly lit second floor studio appropriate for painting, life drawing, digital photography, stained glass, print, fibre, digital media, and other projects. It is a flexible and highly functional space overlooking Water Street.

The studio is equipped with:
