CALL FOR PROPOSALS – Exhibitions 2024-25

ANDREWS, NB     Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre, in St Andrews, NB is calling for exhibition proposals by contemporary artists from New Brunswick, Canada, and internationally for exhibition at Sunbury Shores from 2024 – 2025.

Sunbury Shores is a not-for-profit community art centre with a mandate to present the work of contemporary New Brunswick, Canadian and international professional visual artists. Sunbury Shores is currently seeking exhibition proposals for solo and group exhibitions in a variety of media.  Exhibition proposals should be well-researched and outline a clear concept; they will be reviewed for artistic quality and creativity.

A collaboration between the arts and nature has informed the vision for Sunbury Shores since it was founded nearly 60 years ago, an anniversary to be celebrated in 2024.

Exhibitions are displayed for approximately six weeks with some smaller exhibitions, or pop- up shows, presented for a shorter period. Artist fees, based on national CARFAC rates, are paid to Canadian artists. Artwork may be available for sale or not. A jury of staff, community members, and professional artists reviews proposals.

Submission requirements are:

(1) a digital portfolio of 8 – 10 images, with corresponding image list;

(2) a brief artist statement or exhibition proposal, max 500 words;

(3) the artist’s CV or resume (max 2 pages); and

(4) contact information (must include email, telephone and mailing address).

Please send completed proposals to artisticdirector@sunburyshores.org. Files too large to email may be shared via Google Drive or We Transfer.

The deadline for submissions is October 6, 2023.  Please Note: Incomplete submissions will NOT be reviewed.

For more information, contact artisticdirector@sunburyshores.org, or telephone 506-529-3386.
