Panel Discussion

Join the panel discussion "Peace in Water Through Boundaries" with artist Deanna Musgrave, Fundy Baykeeper Matt Abbott and Kalen Mawer from Eastern Charlotte Waterways. Speakers will explore the changing nature of human's relationship with water that is reflected in Deanna's exhibition Water Witness on exhibition until July 6, 2024. Haiku Workshop

Introduction to Haiku Workshop, Sunday June 30, 1:30 - 3:30 pm Angela Leuck, President of Haiku Canada and Carole Martignacco, of Fundy Bay Writers will co-present how to write Haiku, three-line Japanese-inspired nature poetry. The workshop features Angela's book " Porch to Porch", with copies available for sale. Dawson Hatt, a recent graduate of UNB's Media Arts program, is presenting free one-hour session of tips about hands-on film/video making, including camera settings, lighting, transferring files to computer, and video editing. Dawson is working at Sunbury Shores on behalf of the Cultural Human Resources Council - Student Workplace Program. A resident of Black's Harbour, Dawson has won numerous scholarships and prizes and participated in the Silverwave Film Festival. Dear Dorothy: an illustrated talk by Ann Thomas

A major event of the 60th anniversary is a public illustrated talk ‘Dear Dorothy: Photographer, Philanthropist, Collector and Sunbury Shores Founder’ on Thursday, September 5, at 4:00 pm at the Huntsman Marine Dunn Theatre in the Fundy Discovery Aquarium Ann Thomas, retired Senior Curator of Photographs, and Interim Chief Curator for the National Gallery of Canada will present her research on Dorothy Meigs Eidlitz, the brainchild behind Sunbury Shores. Eidlitz’s extraordinary life as a feminist, activist for people with mental health challenges, international traveller, photographer, art collector, philanthropist and summer resident in St Andrews will be presented in the public talk.
