NB Artful Youth

Free studio printmaking classes for students in Charlotte County

Application deadline: October 6, 2023

Be one of FIVE Charlotte County high school students to learn about printmaking in the NB Artful Youth program at Sunbury Shores this fall.
NB Artful Youth is a series of four studio workshops with Printmaker Nat Cann who will teach basic intaglio, etching and multilayer relief printing, as well as mono printing and acetone transfer. Studio workshops will be at Sunbury Shores on four consecutive Sundays from October 15 to November 5, 2023. The course is free and all materials are provided.
Nat Cann obtained his BFA from Mount Allison University (2012) and now resides in Moncton. He has exhibited across Canada as well as at Sunbury Shores where he has also taught printmaking courses.
The artworks created by students taking part in NB Artful Youth will be exhibited in a provincial exhibition at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in spring 2024. The program is being offered also to students in Saint John, Fredericton, Florenceville, Bouctouche, Edmundston, Sussex, Dieppe, and Moncton. Funded by the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, the program seeks to encourage high school students to consider postsecondary education in the arts.
