Celebrating the life and artistic work of Marie-France Robichaud.

Marie France Robichaud exhibited her work at Sunbury Shores in 2023. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to participate in the installation or attend the opening as she was having treatments for cancer. See the brochure written for her exhibition at Sunbury Shores. She was longlisted for the Scotiabank photography award very early in her career. She was an amazing young woman who, while undergoingtreatment, created the artist-run photography studio F Stop, based in the Moncton area.

We are thankful we had the opportunity to bring her work to St. Andrews and grateful for her contributions to the photographic arts in New Brunswick and supporting other artists. In memory of her passion we have included the brochure from her 2023 exhibition at Sunbury Shores. Please continue reading for information on the posthumous exhibition in Moncton and grant set up by F Stop Studio in her honour.

023 Marie-France Robichaud brochure

An exhibition at Françoise-Chamard-Cadieux Art Gallery opened in Moncton on Sunday, August 10, 2025. The exhibition is curated by Julie Forgues, colleague and friend of Marie-France, and presents the work and research from Marie-France’s Master’s studies in photography at the Studio Arts College International (SACI) in Florence, Italy, between 2019 and 2021. Exhibition themes and accomanpying text are derived from the artist’s master’s thesis.

F Stop Studio, The non-for-profit artist run centre that Marie-France Robichaud cofounded, has created a grant in her honour, this will support artists working in the photographic medium with dedicated funding for creativity. You can see their website for more information or contact them by email. Below is information from F Stop Studio on donations.

Those wishing to make a donation* are invited to do so by e-transfer to f.stop232@gmail.com and include “Bourse MFR” in the note.

*Since we do not yet have charitable status, we are unfortunately unable to issue tax receipts at this time.
